Q: Will the Gelotion’s thicker consistency make my saddle pad slip?

A: No. The Gelotion’s thicker consistency makes for easier application, but it can still be used under tack, boots, wraps, blankets and therapeutics without making a mess. Just like the liniments, the Gelotions absorb quickly into the skin. Simply rinse or bathe the area if the Gelotion remains on the skin from multiple days of consecutive use.

Q: If I am sensitive to chemicals, will it irritate my skin when applying like other liniments?

A: It should not have any adverse effect to human skin as it is a blend of natural herbs and has no harsh additives or irritating herbs. Many other liniments contain menthol, capsaicin or harsh chemicals. These contribute to the burning that people and horses feel. However, if you have concerns consult your doctor.

Q: Can SNM Performance Gelotion be used in combination with other liniment products?

A: SNM Performance Gelotion is safe to use with any other SNM products. Though it has been combined with other products to speed absorption and accelerate beneficial properties such as antibacterial activity, we have not tested SNM with all available topical products from other manufacturers. Some combinations could cause irritation. Consult with your veterinarian if you have any questions about combining SNM Performance Gelotion with other topical products.

Q: What are the added benefits of having a liniment in a “Gelotion” form?

A: The added benefit is that the Gelotion has a thicker consistency. This makes it an ideal choice to apply to areas on the horse where regular liquid liniments may run off. It offers a precise application.

Q: Can I use SNM Performance Gelotion on other areas of the body besides the lower limbs and hooves?

A: Yes. While we don’t suggest using on open wounds or delicate areas like the nostrils and eyes, this Gelotion is safe to use anywhere you deem necessary to pull inflammation and reduce pain. Consult with your veterinarian before application if you intend on using SNM Performance Gelotion outside of labeled uses.

SNM® PERFORMANCE LINIMENT

Q: What is the difference between SNM Classic Liniment and SNM Performance Liniment?

A: The difference is SNM Performance does not contain lobelia. Lobelia was replaced with comfrey to meet FEI “Zero-Tolerance” and other agency regulatory guidelines. Comfrey offers a slightly stronger anti-inflammatory advantage for horses competing in regulated events. SNM Classic still contains lobelia, a natural anti-inflammatory that is listed as a banned substance with certain agencies.

Q: Does SNM Performance Liniment have the same applications and benefits as SNM Classic Liniment?

A:Yes. SNM Performance Liniment can be used in the same way you would use SNM Classic Liniment. Both formulas are designed to reduce pain, inflammation and supple tight muscles. Use either the Performance or Classic formula as a direct spray, bath brace or massage. Use before and after workouts, under riding equipment and as part of a daily grooming routine.

Q: Is SNM Performance Liniment safe to use on horses with sensitive skin?

A: Yes. SNM Performance Liniment, like all products in our SNM line, was designed for sensitive skinned horses. SNM Performance Liniment will not blister or burn the skin like conventional liniments. It’s made of all-natural, gentle ingredients that are proven effective against pain and inflammation.

Q: Can SNM Performance be used under riding equipment, blankets and wraps?

A: Yes. SNM Performance is shown safe to use under riding equipment, blankets, bandages, wraps and therapeutics. Due to our all-natural ingredients, there should be no irritation when used properly under such items. The liniment goes on clean and leaves no greasy residue or sticky mess on equipment.

Q: Can I use SNM Performance Liniment on other areas of the body besides the lower limbs and hooves?

A: Yes. While we don’t suggest using on open wounds or delicate areas like the nostrils and eyes, this liniment is safe to use anywhere you deem necessary to pull inflammation and reduce pain. Consult with your veterinarian before application if you intend on using SNM Performance Liniment outside of labeled uses.

SNM PERFORMANCE POULTICE

Q: Can I just apply SNM Performance Poultice by itself and turn my horse out?

A: The SNM poultices are designed to be safely used alone and without wraps or supervision. You may apply right before turning your horse out, but we recommend that you let it dry first. The poultice is more beneficial if the weather conditions are not cold or wet. If used in inclement conditions and not allowed to dry, it will not be as effective.

Q: I board my horse where there is not easy access to a wash area, is Performance Poultice easy to remove?

A: The SNM poultices are just as easy to remove as they are to apply. Once the poultice is fully dry, it can be brushed off the coat or picked out of hooves with little effort. If you know you’ll be regularly removing poultice without water, using a slightly thinner application is recommended.

Q: How do I use SNM Performance Poultice to draw out an abscess?

A: Our poultices can be used in place of or with a hoof packing of your choice to help draw out abscesses. It’s best to apply a protective boot or hoof wrap over the poultice after packing to avoid contamination and increase effectiveness.

Q: Can I use SNM Performance Poultice on other areas of the body besides the lower limbs and hooves?

A: Yes, depending on the area, this poultice could be used on other areas besides lower limbs. We don’t recommend using the poultice on areas where riding equipment can come into contact with it. While we don’t suggest using on open wounds or delicate areas like the nostrils or eyes, this poultice is safe to use on any areas you deem necessary to pull inflammation and reduce pain. Consult with your veterinarian before application if you intend on using SNM Performance Poultice outside of labeled uses.
